FINDING YOUR CALLING

II CHRONICLES 26: 3-8 declares: "King Uzziah was sixteen years old when he become king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.

God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabians. Also the Ammonities brought tribute to Uzziah. His fame spread as far as the entrance of Egypt, for he strengthened himself exceedingly."

1. AS LONG AS HE SOUGHT THE LORD, GOD MADE HIM PROSPER

2. GOD HELPED HIM AGAINST THE ENEMIES

3. HIS FAME SPREAD AS FAR AS THE ENTRANCE OF EGYPT

4. HE STRENGTHENED HIMSELF EXCEEDINGLY

II CHRONICLES 26: 15 declares: "And he made devices in Jerusalem, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones.

So his fame spread far and wide, for he was helped marvellously till he become strong.

HE WAS MARVELLOUSLY HELPED TILL HE WAS STRONG

This man was marvellously helped, the power of God was with him, God was with him, God made him prosper. He prospered because the LORD was with him.

The key to prosperity is "If God is with you, who can be against you."

He was marvellously helped until he was strong. The LORD was on his side.

God helped him as long he was dependent, unless he was small in his own eyes.

But next verse declares that when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to destruction:

"But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgress against the LORD his God by entering the temple to burn incense on the altar."

This man was trying to be the Priest when God called him to be a King.

The moment he thought that he is strong, so powerful, that don't need God, you miss your calling. He loose sight of the vision from God. King cannot be Priest and Priest cannot be King. It is not his job to offer incense, for he was not consecrated to burn incense.

"It is not for you, Uzziah to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! You shall have no honour from the LORD your God." II CHR. 26: 18

And the answer from the LORD came in verse 19 - 21 - "Then Uzziah become furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the LORD.

"And Azariah the chief priest and all priests looked at him and there, on his forehead, he was leprous; so they thrust him out of the place.

Indeed he also hurried to get out, because the LORD has struck him."

"King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off  from the house of the LORD."

Here is the man who started right but ended wrong. Here is a man who went away from his calling. Walked away from what God had for him. And remember: if you walk away from your calling, you walk into leprosy. The leprosy is the symbol of sin.

The moment he walk away from God's perfect will, he walked into leprosy.

In NUMBERS 12 Miriam also walked into leprosy for criticise man of God - Moses.

Leprosy is striking individuals when he left his office or who desired someone’s else's office. In Uzziah's case leprosy struck him for leaving his office, in Miriam case leprosy struck for desiring Moses' office. If God did not call you - you can't choose someone’s office. Now we are going to I KINGS 19: 1-15 that declares as Elijah as the great man of God. Previous chapter 18 is the chapter of victory in his life, chapter 19 is another story.

In chapter 18 we see as he stands against entire nation of Israel, against the king Achab, against the prophets of Baal. Image being yourself against hundreds of enemies.

This is a very unusual story. In this chapter we see incredible power of anointing of man who is standing against thousands of his enemies. And now after this incredible day of victory when the prophets of Baal were destroyed, when our God was showed by fire -

one woman, not an army, not a king, not a nation, but one women said: I want to kill you.

This took away his faith in God Almighty. He was so discouraged that he wanted to die.

That's you call is human nature. Here is the great man of God who wandered out of God's calling. But God was gracious to him and said: Go back to your calling as a prophet.

God never took his anointing from you, as he did not taken from Elijah. Never lost sight where you are going. The moment you preach things God did not call you to preach, you begin doing things God never call's you to do. Next thing is never to loose the sight.

You began man moving without clarity of vision. The anointing stays, the blessing stays,

but sooner or later this too will go. First goes the sight of your calling than goes the glory.

First goes the vision and then goes the presence. Most ministers today have not vision what is coming next. What causes man to loose vision? You begin wanted to do or say or teach things God call them never to do. When you can not want to come back to your calling, you become so blind doing what God don't want you to do. Get back to your calling. The people are hungry for presence of God in your calling.

Don't ever seek God touch, seek God and He will touch you. Seek the Lord with all His fullness. It's not seeking His presence, it's seeking Him. You say how do I find calling of God in my life. I said to God: Lord how do I find my calling? He said to me: When you find Me the Caller, you'll find your calling. I never knew that was so simple. Just follow.

Now notice that Uzziah lost his calling when he no longer sought the Caller. As long as he sought, he was blessed. As longer as Caller was his source - the calling was there.

The firs thing the enemy is doing to you is to destruct you from your Master. To take your eyes from Jesus and put them on ministry, work, service, anything and your vision will go away, you became spiritually blind and you will miss what God has for you.

But thank God for His grace. Paul thought that he was serving God, but when Jesus was appearing, he was scaring in his eyes. When Jesus was revealed he was baptised in the Holy Ghost to His service. When God shows up, He will show you your calling.

So saints, I beg you. Do not seek even God's presence, seek Him - God Almighty.

Don't seek a touch, seek the Toucher. We want Jesus, the Person of Christ. Look for Him to find Him, seek Him and when you meet with Him, He will reveal your calling.
