The Bible begins and ends talking about the fruit. Genesis 2: 15, 16 declares: “The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to keep it. And the LORD God
commanded the man, saying, ‘You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”
Revelation 22: 1, 2 declares: “Then He showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of
the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for healing of the
nations.”
Fruit deals what the Holy Spirit gives. Our Lord in New Testament declares that we should bear fruit. JOHN 15: 5 declares:
“I Am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” And JOHN 15: 16 declares: “You did not choose Me, but I
choose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you.”
If we are planted properly in Him we can only bear fruit of His love. God is so Holy, that when you meet with Him, your iniquities are magnified, your sinful nature is
magnified. In God’s presence you become aware how filthy you are.
When you confess your iniquity you see grace of God who is abound in mercy and love. Fear of God strikes you when you realise that one day you will stand before Him and answer
how you managed His gifts given to you. Every word you speak will be judged. It is Holy God and He can not look at sin. Everybody today tell us they are going to heaven, even new religions New Age. It is
idea of God as humanism.
It is Holy God. You can not do what you want to proclaim desires of your flesh. The Bible says that all mangroves, adulterers, evil doers shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Whatever we do, there were always consequences for sinful actions, even for forgiven sin will be consequences. Let confess that wages of sin is death. Be Holy for I am Holy says the Lord. We must be
planted properly as in PSALM 1:1 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the Law of
the LORD, and on His Law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, and yields its fruit in its season, and its leaves does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
If you want to bear spiritual fruit, then you must reject sin, walk in love, and delight in the God’s Word. You must also be planted in
the house of God - connected to the Body of Christ. PSALM 92: 13, 14 declares: “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth
fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourish. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish and shall bring fruit.
You cannot grow without presence of God’s people. Identity of the fruit is in the vine. Jesus is the vine. Fruit of Spirit is His fruit. Jesus produces the fruit and we bear
it. Jesus Christ is author and finisher of our faith.
And the Father is the divine gardener who supervises the process. JOHN 15: 1,2 “I am the true vine and my Father is husbandman. Every branch in me that beared not fruit,
He purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
The purging process is one that many Christians reject because when they go through difficulties they always think that the devil is
attacking them. God prunes productive plants for the same reason a farmer prunes - to produce more fruit. The parable of the barren tree in LUKE 13: 6 - 9 gives us how God works continually and patiently
with the unproductive to produce fruit. But we must cooperate with Father. He will work on us, he will help you. God gives us time to produce fruit.
NINE MANIFESTATIONS OF ONE FRUIT
Galatians 5: 22 - 23 describes the spiritual fruit that God wants to develop in you. Note that it is not “fruits”, but it is the fruit
- one fruit of the Spirit revealed in nine manifestations: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance ( self - control ).
1. LOVE: the first of these manifestations is love, the key to all the others.. The spiritual fruit of love is not just an emotion. It`s divine impartation of
the Love of God as in I CORINTHIANS 13. It is a love that surpasses human understanding and causes you to be filled with the fullness of God as in EPHESIANS 3: 17,18, 19. “That Christ may dwell in
your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which
passes all knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”This supernatural love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5: 5 “Now hope does not disappoint,
because the love of God has been poured in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
2. JOY: causes believer to have strength on daily base. Joy has nothing to do with your emotions. It is something that is manifested in the spiritual realm,
supernatural joy that gives spiritual strength. NEHEMIAH 8: 10 “Joy of the LORD is my strength”. Joy of the LORD is a result of Salvation. The Psalmist and the Prophet Isaiah both refer to it
as the Joy of Salvation. PSALM 51: 12 and ISAIAH 12: 3. It is a divine joy that results from an experiential knowledge of God’s Word.
3. PEACE: we all need peace. World is hungry for peace but only Jesus can give you peace and it is free of charge, when nations spent billions just for keeping
peace. This peace doesn’t come through drugs, alcohol, sex or entertainment. It is super- natural peace that is a gift of God. JOHN 14: 27 declares: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to
you; not as a world gives do I give to you.” The spiritual fruit of peace results from being justified by faith and loving God’s Word. This is a peace that surpasses all human understanding, and
keeps your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. PHILIPPIANS 4: 7 declares: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
4. LONGSUFFERING: Longsuffering is love on trial. Longsuffering is selfishness conquered. COLOSSIANS 3: 13 declares: “ Put on longsuffering bearing
with one another, and forgiving one another.” It enables you to forbear and forgive others as Christ forgave you. COLOSS. 1: 11- “Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power,
for all patience and longsuffering with joy.” Longsuffering comes from the Holy Spirit. As with the others manifestation of spiritual fruit, you can’t produce it in yourself.
5. GENTLENESS: It is to approach the people with the healing touch. Gentleness is a longsuffering with the healing touch. I THESSALONIANS 2: 7 “But we were
gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own son.” Gentleness is a quality that makes you great in God`s sight. II SAMUEL 22: 36 “You have given me a shield of your
salvation and your help made me great.” In MATTHEW 5: 5 “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.” Only the Holy Spirit can produce gentleness out of you.
6. GOODNESS: It is love in the noblest behaviour. Godliness is holiness put into practice and results from knowing God.ROMANS 15:14 “Now I myself am
confident concerning you, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.” Goodness is a result of knowing God. Do good to them that hate
you. LUKE 6: 27 “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.” Goodness enables you also to do good to those of the household of faith. GAL.6: 10
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
7. FAITH: It is a gift and also a manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. The gift of faith is imparted from God through the Word, but the fruit of faith is
produced by the Holy Spirit. Gift of faith can move mountains, but the fruit of faith is what is required for daily living and can move God. It is impossible to have fruit of faith and miss heaven and it
is possible to have gift of faith and miss heaven. The fruit of faith enables us to walk and live by faith. HEBREWS 11: 6-“But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to
God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
8. MEEKNESS: It is total deliverance from self. Meekness is not weakness. It is slave like submission to God. Your spirit is free from rebellion and pride.
It is the hidden man of the heart - a meek and quiet spirit - which is greatly valued by God. It is total deliverance from self. I PETER 3: 4 - “But let it be the hidden person of the heart, with
the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” The Bible declares that the meek inherit the earth. They will be guided with judgement, and
they are beautified by salvation.
9. TEMPERANCE: It is control over the whole man - spirit, soul and body. Temperance means self control which
enables us to live a victorious life. I PETER 1: 5-7- “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to
self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness LOVE.
